Welcome back from a nice long weekend! This week we'll be starting off by presenting your Plate Boundary Animations - you are not required to, but will get bonus points on your project if you do. We'll also be checking out class results for the Plate Tectonics Test in comparison to the amount that classes studied. It's my hope that by reflecting on this data, you find ways to become a better student. If you would like to retake the test, you have one week from Wednesday to do it. (Make sure to talk Mr. Bowles with any questions) We will also be moving on from Plate Tectonics to our next unit - Rocks, Weathering, & Erosion. To start off, we will look at the different categories of rock - igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary. These rocks are made in various ways, and actually each one can morph into the next. First trimester grades close on December 5th (next Wednesday), so make sure you have any missing assignments in by that day. After school help is available Tuesday and Thursday this week. Stay curious and keep looking for answers!
Welcome back from a well-deserved long weekend! This will be another fast week as we finish up Plate Boundary Animations and prepare for the Plate Tectonics Test (4 bars) on Friday. The last in-class day to work on the Plate Boundary Animation project is Tuesday, but you will still have time outside of class this week to finish up. Presentations of the semi-final draft of your video will happen on Thursday, during which you'll get feedback to learn about how you might improve it. During Wednesday's class, there will be a Jeopardy review game to help with last minute preparations for the Plate Tectonics Test (4 bars) on Friday. The Jeopardy review will be posted on Google Classroom at the end of the day on Wednesday so you can play it on your own time. After school help will be available Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday this week. Stay curious and keep looking for answers! This week will be a quick one - with no school on Tuesday and our work in-class focusing on completing the Plate Boundary Animation of your chosen real-world location. The whole video project is due next Tuesday (no school on Monday) in the beginning of class, but there will be a number of graded check-ins along the way. This Monday & Wednesday will be dedicated to finishing up labeling & animating your plate boundary, then importing your work into WeVideo. On Thursday, you will be completing the video requirements in WeVideo - adding text, backgrounds, transitions, and music. You'll also be piecing together a story about your plate boundary location through pictures and events. On Friday, you will finish-up by writing your explanation and integrating it into WeVideo. Presentations of your animation will be happening the following week. Just so you know way in advance - the Plate Tectonics Test will be Thursday, November 15th. We will be doing a Jeopardy review in class beforehand, but consistently studying your flashcards will help prepare you. Extra help is available Monday, Thursday, and Friday this week. Stay curious and keep looking for answers! |
