Welcome back from our last three day weekend of the school year! This week you will continue your investigation into the question, How does gravity manipulate the universe? You (and your group) have chosen a question from the class-wide concept map, developed ideas and completed research to help you answer this question, and began to think about how you can create a "working representation" of the concepts you've discovered. This week, you will begin creating this working representation. Your group needs to consider what materials, equipment, and/or programs you will need to help your ideas come to life. If you need assistance for any reason, let Mr. Bowles know how he can help. Also, to help you expand on your design ideas, you will be watching Brian Greene's Fabric of the Cosmos: What is Space?. It introduces the concept that empty space in outer-space is NOT nothing - it is actually something. How can you create a working representation of how gravity manipulates the universe? Stay curious and keep looking for answers!
This week we will be continuing our investigation into the question: How does gravity manipulate the universe? In your groups, we will finish creating the questions that will help us find the information we need in order to answer our main question. We will then take some time to reflect on the gravity "rules" we created while using the PhET simulation and compare them to Sir Isaac Newton's discoveries and rules related gravity. We will be starting with our new Astronomy textbook this week, so if you still haven't turned in your old book make sure to do so. Stay curious and keep looking for answers!
